Since 1980, Mr. Kudel has represented over 8,000 clients who have been charged with various criminal offenses in the State of Maryland. These include both Felony and Misdemeanor offenses in the State and Federal Courts. Many cases involved the representation of clients charged with crimes against other persons including Murder, Manslaughter, Aggravated Assault and Simple Assault, Battery, Reckless Endangerment, Robbery, Kidnapping, Carjacking, Stalking, Harassment and Inmate Assault.

Mr. Kudel also has experience in defending sex offense cases including Rape, Sex Offenses, Child Abuse (sexual and physical), Prostitution, Assignation, Sodomy and Unnatural or Perverted Sexual Practice, Incest, Possession or Distribution of Child Pornography, Indecent Exposure and the electronic transmission of Revenge Porn.

A large part of Mr. Kudel’s practice includes the representation of individuals charged with violations of Maryland’s drug laws. Many of his clients have been charged with Possession, Manufacture and Distribution of illicit Controlled Dangerous Substances including Marijuana, Heroin, Cocaine, Phencyclidine (PCP) and Lysergic Acid (LSD). In the last 10 years, Mr. Kudel has represented clients charged with the illegal possession and distribution of other Controlled Substances such as Oxycodone/Oxycontin, various so called designer drugs like MDMA (Ecstasy and Molly) and the illegal possession and distribution of Methadone and Fentanyl. Finally, there has been an increase in the number of clients seeking representation for the illegal possession of prescription drugs.

Mr. Kudel has represented clients charged with property offenses including Arson, Burglary, Destruction of Property and Trespass.

His background as a White Collar Crime investigator in the State’s Attorney’s office prepared him to handle the defense of individuals who have been charged with various financial crimes including Theft, Fraud, Misappropriation by a Fiduciary, Bribery involving a Public Official, various credit card offenses, bad check charges, identify fraud and offenses involving vulnerable adults.

Mr. Kudel has also represented individuals charged with Animal Neglect, Hate Crimes and crimes against health and safety including Possession of Alcohol in a Public Place, Disorderly Intoxication and the criminal liability to adults who furnish alcohol to minors.
